Hopelessly, Completely, MADLY in Love
The next few days hold a special significance for me. My anniversary is July 2nd, and my love for my darling husband is the sole reason I am able to write about romance. He’s definitely my muse.
My newest romance that has a killer hiding among the residents of Bardstown will be coming out tomorrow, July 1st. Hopelessly, Completely, MADLY in Love is my mom’s favorite read of mine. Kentucky, where all the action takes place, is my paternal grandfather’s home state. I have visited many towns similar to Bardstown over the years, but have never actually been there.
This historical romance novel has basically been finished for several years now, and has gone through many changes in the past year. The book was originally called Loving Lex. I found a similarly titled book, and changed the name. Lexine (Lexi) Donovan was named Alexandrea (Lexie) Donovan in the original manuscript. A character in my sequel to Genevieve Grace (The Seaside Slayer) is named Alexander (Xander) Carrigan. He befriends Genny in college and shields her when reporters swarm on her after a major revelation. I really liked his name and didn’t want to change it. I had to come up with an alternate name for Lexi, also known as Lex. I made up the name Lexine. I needed a middle name and found that my maternal grandmother’s middle name was in the top 100 for the time period starting in 1876. Lexi is now Lexine Octavia. My mom is happy. She adored my grandmother Grace. Oh, perhaps that is where the Grace in Genevieve Grace comes from.
Happy 4th of July, everyone! If you get a chance, check out my book available on Kindle at Amazon.
The Seaside Slayer is the name of the sequel of Genevieve Grace. The book is almost half way finished. I’m aiming for release in Fall of 2016. Genny finds notes that her late husband left behind on a book he never got to finish about a serial killer. Two women are murdered using the same M.O. as in the book. Genny becomes a person of interest. Will she be the next victim, or is she doing the murders herself?
Genevieve Grace is 99 Cents right now on a Kindle Countdown Deal. If you haven’t already read it, now is a good opportunity.
Genny did not have fond memories of Henry Moretti in elementary school. She perceived his merciless teasing as torture, but she was actually his first love. He never forgot the girl who he gave the special name of GG.
Funny how life sometimes imitates art. I wrote this character and had his name before meeting a young boy named Henry, who also loves to tease. He will tease anyone in his vicinity and aggravates most of the teens I am acquainted with. I like him. I tease him back and call him three sticks. He is Henry III.
In Genevieve Grace, Henry is now know as Hank. He’s the new quarterback for the Generals. He seeks Genny out as soon as he moves back to Carolina Bay.
The book How to Capture Kate is supposed to be about Collins, Kate Collins. I had to throw in a James Bond joke. One of the main male characters is getting the most attention. The readers have spoken, and I listened. Everyone seems to love FBI Special Agent Nathan Reed. I’ve had numerous comments from women who are angry at poor Kate for seeking revenge against him, after he breaks her heart. My imagination always had a back story for Nathan, along with several other characters, that I was going to try to infuse somewhat into the sequel, Obsession of Mine. Now I don’t have to make an effort, because he has his own short story on Kindle. It is absolutely FREE from June 11-15. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GG7RL52
